dating - asking - start a relation. i'm confused

hi all, i have been reading some topic these days and i'm a bit confused.
i live in italy so things might be (much) different here, and i know most of u guys are from us.

but let's go to the point. one boy dates a girl, they both show to like each other, they spend a good time togheter and eventually kiss. the following days the go out again and have some good time, walk hand in hand and so on. at this point i would say that they are rispectively her boyfriend and his girlfriend, right?
i'm asking this cause i have just read about some tricks like introducing the girl you are have been dating as you girlfriend. but what is the point of doing it if you can ask her about it way before when u feel things are clear between you two?
if a girl kisses you, doesnt it mean that she likes you? and doesnt this imply that she will be very likely your girlfriend? ( it is clear that im not dealing with cases like disco club and such, cause we all know that girls are just looking for some fun there . im thinking of a standard situation)

The advice you were referring to is directed more toward people closer to 30. Older people are more cautious about commitments and calling a girl you went on a first date with the other day your girl friend will freak her out. If youre a younger person you shouldnt have to worry about this so much.
